Join us for a relaxing and creative painting experience as we bring a lively arrangement of poppies to life on canvas. In this guided acrylic painting class, students will use brushes to create loose, expressive poppies in beautiful shades of pink, red, coral and violet, accented with delicate stems, grasses, seed pods and painterly details. We’ll explore layering color, creating movement with expressive brushstrokes, adding highlights and shadows, and using simple techniques to give each flower its own personality.

This class is designed to be approachable and enjoyable, whether you are brand new to painting or simply looking for a fun opportunity to loosen up and create. Rather than focusing on making every flower look exactly the same, students will be encouraged to experiment with color, brushwork and composition so that every finished painting feels unique. Along the way, we’ll explore color mixing, expressive brushwork, layering, depth, highlights and finishing details while creating a lively floral composition filled with movement and personality. The goal is to enjoy the process, learn a few new techniques and leave with a finished piece you’ll be proud to display.

Notes to Participants: All materials are provided, including canvas, acrylic paints, brushes, and everything needed to complete your painting. No previous painting experience is necessary.
