Sort-of-Culture: Garden Ornaments in the Landscape
Instructor: Bev Shaw, Master Gardener and Plant Select
Saturday, March 1 | 9:30–11:30 a.m. | $23 In-person | $10 Virtual
It's not horticulture, it's sort-of-culture, as in, maybe garden gnomes aren't "characterized by refined taste" which is one definition of "cultured" but they are certainly popular in our culture! Drawing from visits to many botanic gardens and private gardens, with an eye for quirky gardens and ornaments, this class will showcase all the beautiful or wacky things people add to their gardens to make them their own. We'll see examples of tuteurs, arbors, creative planters, statuary and more. You'll go home scratching your head about some of them, laughing about others but mostly inspired by the creativity of fellow gardeners and ready to add some beauty or whimsy to your own garden.
