Community-Centered Programming

The Gardens on Spring Creek is Fort Collins’ community botanic garden. At 12 acres in size with year-round programming, The Gardens creates meaningful connections between people and the natural environment. As The Gardens celebrates its 20th anniversary, we are ever mindful that the world-class garden you see today is the result of thousands of individuals who have supported our mission along the way with their time, their talent, and their treasure.

Program Details

The Gardens strives to be a world-class botanic garden that is community-oriented, educational, experiential and sustainable and we develop programming in support of that vision.  We are constantly asking ourselves ““Who will this serve, does this further our mission, will it have an impact, and how can we make it better for next year?”  Below are just a few of our current programs that support and build our community:

  • Bonsai Show
  • Community Gardens
  • Dia de Muertos + Latiné Heritage Month
  • Indigenous Community Garden
  • Plant It Forward
  • Spring Plant Sale
  • Volunteer Opportunities

Program Impact

Our focus on community has elevated The Gardens to a trusted and valued community partner that offers year-round opportunities for people to get involved, learn, celebrate, and plant, and we are far from finished!  We are currently enhancing our ADA accommodations, finalizing an interpretive signage plan across the entire organization, and adding opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to volunteer.
